Vitas J. Mockaitis has 30 years of experience handling Illinois workers’ compensation claimson behalf of injured workers throughout the State of Illinois. Vitas is a graduate of the University of Illinois Chicago and the John Marshall Law School. Respected as a leading trial lawyer, during the course of his distinguished career, Vitas has briefed and successfully argued numerous cases before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, circuit courts and the Appellate Court.


With his extensive knowledge and experience in workers’ compensation law and related fields of legal practice, Vitas has presented numerous seminars on the theme of injured workers’ rights and benefits, addressing unions and labor organizations throughout the State of Illinois.  In addition, he has authored and co-authored several guidebooks and information pamphlets concerning workers’ compensation issues as they relate to injured workers in Illinois.  Subjects of the publications have included repetitive trauma and overuse injuries and injured workers’ medical rights, among other topics.

Vitas has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association for the past eight years and has been elected to serve as the vice-president of the Association for the year 2020. Vitas also speaks and writes the Lithuanian language and is on the Board of Directors of the National Lithuanian American Hall of Fame.
